There are many things for me to be thankful for this year and quite honestly after the past two weeks that I've (we've) had, I needed some good news. Amidst the dental appointments, unwanted bladder infection, final exams, angst about our upcoming trip (aka Maggie flying)... there was a silver lining. On Friday, Chris and I quietly celebrated to accomplishments. 1. Chris was done with his first semester of MBA school at the U of MN. and 2. I was FINALLY able to go COMPLETELY off prednisone. Yes... I'M OFF PREDNISONE. Just in time to celebrate with my family in Disney World.
Chris and I, and the rest of my family, leave early tomorrow morning to head to Disney World on a trip that we've planned for 2 years, and talked non-stop about for just as long. I'm so excited to show Chris the many memories I have made with my family there, plus now at Christmas when we talk about the "hairy leg on Pirates of the Caribbean" he'll understand.
We'll be greeted by two ADORABLE nieces, that will allow us to know what its like to be a kid again. I cannot wait to share with all of you the wonderful time I KNOW we'll have.
This is the first time Chris and I have gone on a vacation since our honeymoon, we cannot wait! We ask for your prayers, as I've never been a good flyer, add prednisone anxiety and a bladder infection, LOOK OUT. My I think my excitement is, for once, overshadowing my anxiety.
Anyways, hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving. Thanks for all the support, now lets CELEBRATE and enjoy being thankful for our MANY blessings! :)

Why is it always me?
Why is it always me? That has been the question on my mind the past three days. Long story short I ended up going to the dentist a few weeks ago and found out that I have 8 cavities and one needed a root canal. So let the dental appointments begin. I had 4 fillings done on Thursday... Of which that morning prior my kitty brought a mouse to my nightstand and then proceeded to loose it at 6 am... In the bedroom. It was then followed by me backing up into my husband's car. Yep... I didn't think I could have anything worse happen... Boy does God have a funny sense of humor.
So my mouth was extremely sore on Friday so I was not in the mood to deal with a kitty that was prowling the first floor for a mouse. Needless to say I was up for 30 minutes and I look next to me and there is Hannity with a mouse hanging from his mouth. Of course I have the cat that won't kill it but instead plays with it. One smart mouse as he ran into the laundry room behind the dryer. Long story short, Hannity and I caught it 2 hours later.
I was not in the mood to deal with anything else Friday night, but of course my "root canal" tooth , which had already been aching, started to throb. Friday night I got a total of 4 hours of sleep. Chris and I found an emergency dental place, and ventured out in a snow storm, leaving our house with no electricity. We got to the place and they were able to do a root canal for me... A 2.5 hour root canal. The doctor said I was one of the tougher ones he has had. Like I said... Why me. Needless to say I've been extremely nauseous and my mouth is sore. Hoping to re-energize by tomorrow but well see. Prayers for strength are much needed. After2 plus years i've started to hit my breaking point. Our Thanksgiving vacation could not be coming at a more perfect time.

SURPRISE... its my birthday!
Below is the picture that I took during my birthday weekend... I walked out of my bathroom to find my cat perched from his bed... looking at me like SURPRISE it's your birthday... what are we going to do today.
I was fortunate enough to spend my birthday with my parents as well! They came up for the night! It was wonderful. My mom and I did a little shopping and then we ended the night at Muffaletta, a restaurant in St. Paul that is one of my favorites. I was so happy that my parents were able to come, especially my Dad, as he has one of the busiest work schedules I know! So sweet of them.
It was a very relaxing, fun weekend. I was grateful to be surrounded by my 3 biggest fans, and supporters.
To me this weekend I hit a milestone. I try to not be gloomy, or morbid. But I will be completely honest, at my last year's birthday I knew there was a possibility that I wouldn't make it to 27. Chris thought this as well. So... we celebrated this birthday!
I can honestly say that my outlook on life after this birthday is a lot brighter. I have added some goals to my plate and I officially know that I will make it to my 28th. But, that doesn't shrug the fact that one thing I have learned is that with each birthday I will NEVER look at it as another year older. No, instead I will look at it as another year LIVED...
Anyways... I had a wonderful birthday this past weekend. I woke up to two voicemails, the first one being my beautiful niece, Keegan, singing Happy Birthday to me. Followed by my lovely father singing to me (its tradition since I was a little girl). I could help but smile. I then was greeted by my husband with coffee, bagels, and flowers... what a thoughtful one I have! :)I was fortunate enough to spend my birthday with my parents as well! They came up for the night!
